Camden Defends Democracy
Camden Defends Democracy

Camden has a proud radical history of standing up for our values.

We will not stand by while an unelected Prime Minister tramples our democracy to force through a no deal Brexit.

Camden Labour will be hosting a cross-party Camden Defends Democracy rally this Saturday 31st August from 10.30am in Russell Square with speakers including; Keir Starmer MP, Tulip Siddiq MP, Camden council leader Georgia Gould, Holborn and St Pancras Labour Chair Sagal Abdi-Wali, co-leader of Green Party Sian Berry, former Camden Liberal Democrat Leader Keith Moffitt, Joan Bakewell, Member of European Parliament Seb Dance, trade unionists, young activists and more.

After the rally there will be a group travelling to Downing Street to join a national protest.

  • Time: 10:30am
  • Date: Saturday 31st August

Please share with family, friends and neighbours so we can send a message loud and clear that in Camden we will not stand by while our democracy is torn up.

Camden is proud of our diverse community, our connections to Europe, our EU citizens, our openness and we stand in solidarity with our allies across the UK and EU making their voices heard this weekend.

At a moment where we are seeing our public services struggling, young people lose their lives on our streets and poverty spiralling it is an act of extreme and gross negligence to push our country into chaos through no deal.

We cannot let it happen. Together we will send a united message to Boris Johnson that Camden will defend our democracy.

Cllr Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council
